From Margins to Leadership (FML) Project
Empowering Rural and Marginalised Youth in Southern Province
Youth Projects Development Platform (YPDP), with support from the AU-EU Youth Lab, is excited to invite young people from Southern Province to apply for the From Margins to Leadership (FML) project. This initiative is designed to empower rural and marginalised youth by equipping them with essential skills in human rights, public speaking, advocacy, and community engagement.
The FML project aims to build a new generation of Community Youth Leaders who can actively participate in development planning, engage in Constituency Development Fund (CDF) processes, and contribute meaningfully to policy development. Successful applicants will also have opportunities to represent their communities at both national and regional platforms.
What You Will Gain

- Comprehensive training in human rights, advocacy, and governance
- Practical skills to influence policy, lead community initiatives, and drive local development
- Opportunities to participate in SADC and African Union platforms, amplifying their voices beyond their communities
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be 18–35 years old
- Have completed Grade 12 or be a tertiary student/graduate
- Be a resident of Southern Province
- Demonstrate passion and commitment to community development
- Priority consideration will be given to marginalised groups
