The Edu-Fund Program is YPDP’s social inclusion and education support initiative designed to help vulnerable and marginalized children and young people access opportunities for learning, personal development, and civic engagement. The program focuses on mentorship, selective financial support, leadership development, and empowerment for learners facing economic and social barriers.
Edu-Fund bridges educational gaps by offering structured mentorship, targeted financial assistance, academic guidance, and personal development support. It ensures that vulnerable youth can remain in school, access learning resources, and participate meaningfully in community and national development.
Mentorship and Personal Development: Guidance and coaching to help young people build confidence, discipline, leadership skills, and life vision.
Selective Educational Support: Limited financial assistance offered to the most vulnerable learners to help with fees, learning materials, exam support, and school-related needs.
Academic Guidance and Study Support: Helping young people with study skills, academic planning, career direction, and navigating educational pathways.
Civic Education and Participation: Empowering learners to understand and participate in civic processes, leadership opportunities, and community initiatives.
Youth Empowerment Activities: Workshops, training, and engagements that strengthen young people’s social awareness, resilience, and community contribution.
Partnerships for Educational Advancement: Collaborations with schools, community groups, and partners to create support networks for vulnerable youth.
Margins to Leadership Project
The Margins to Leadership Project empowers 40 community youth leaders from Luapula, Muchinga, and Northern Provinces to strengthen local governance participation, enhance local authority engagement, and promote transparency and social accountability. Through mentorship, training, and civic engagement, this project equips young leaders with the tools to champion inclusive governance and ensure that youth voices shape community decisions.
The program addresses educational inequalities by providing personalized mentorship to guide vulnerable youth towards achieving their educational goals. Mentorship fosters resilience, self-esteem, and a sense of direction among youth, enabling them to overcome obstacles and break the cycle of poverty.
