Tree4Tree Project Scales Up Community Reforestation Efforts
15 January 2026
The Tree4Tree Project, implemented by Earth Care Foundation in partnership with Youth Projects Development Platform, continues to make strong progress in restoring degraded land in Muchinga Province. Guided by the principle “one tree for every tree cut,” the project promotes responsible land use and sustainable tree planting at farm and community level.
In 2025, the project built the capacity of 30 farmers in Kanika Village and supported the planting of 1,000 trees on deforested farms belonging to three farmers, contributing to improved ecosystems and land restoration. In 2026, the initiative has significantly scaled up, with 20,000 pine seedlings now ready for distribution to 50 farmers in Mpika District.
To ensure sustainability, seedlings are also available for sale at K2 per seedling. Community members, institutions, and individuals interested in restoring bare land are encouraged to engage with the project as Tree4Tree continues to strengthen climate resilience and community-led environmental stewardship.
