YPDP Hosts Governance and Policy Engagement Workshop in Mazabuka

YPDP successfully conducted a Capacity Building Workshop on Governance and Policy Engagement under the Margins to Leadership Project in Mazabuka District, with support from the AU–EU Youth Lab. The workshop brought together 20 rural youths from seven districts across Southern Province, with strong participation from young women and other marginalized groups.

Participants engaged in interactive sessions on leadership, human rights, civic education, advocacy strategies, and governance structures such as Ward Development Committees and CDF Committees. The workshop also created space for peer learning, networking, and dialogue on barriers limiting youth and women’s participation in leadership.

YPDP appreciates the presence of District Administrative Officer Mr. Oliver Mulomba, representing the District Commissioner, and Kaonga Ward Councillor Mr. Clifford Jolezya, whose contributions reinforced the importance of youth engagement in governance. The workshop strengthened participants’ confidence to mobilize communities and advocate for inclusive development..
