YPDP Strengthens Volunteerism Capacity Ahead of IVY 2026

YPDP participated in the African Union Volunteerism Capacity Strengthening Training held in Lusaka from 18–19 November 2025. The training, facilitated by the AU’s Women, Gender and Youth Directorate, formed part of preparations for the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IVY 2026).

The engagement covered the AU’s mandate on volunteerism, the Continental Volunteer Linkage Platform, and the role of volunteerism in youth employment, governance, and rights-based development. Government representatives highlighted Zambia’s progress while calling for stronger implementation of volunteerism policies.

YPDP reaffirmed its commitment to mainstream volunteerism across its programmes and contribute to national and continental youth development agendas.
